Fun at Aunt Sarah's

Dave's kids and I gathered at Eric and Sarah's in October. We had a wonderful time. We played in the leaves, baked apple crisp and monster cookies and went Trick or treating at the zoo. Here are all the kids looking through a playhouse window. Little Josiah was so much fun and really enjoyed his cousins.

Thanksgiving

Didn't we have fun at aunt Sarah's and uncle Eric's. Grandpa and I are so looking forward to Thanksgiving. Today I am making cinnamon rolls for one of our breakfast times. I am putting games, books etc in a basket to bring. Is there any requests of anything that you want me to bring? 1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8-9-10-1-12-days until we are all together.

Fall Collage

Hey Emily, Luke, Alise and Natalie remember when we were visiting you and we picked up all those helicopters. Well today my school children made fall collages and we glued them on a meat tray along with some real pretty leaves that I found. Didn't they turn out pretty? I thought you might like to see them. Thanks for your help!

Jonathan visits Grandpa and Grandma's House

Jonathan and the Pumpkin Patch

We had a fun visit to the pumpkin patch. Jonathan loved exploring it all. Isn't he cute in the scarecrow? He is at a very fun age and is excited about everything. He is starting to say words and like to say cracker and stand by the cupboard with the graham crackers in it.

Pumpkin Patch

Friday night Grandpa and I went with some friends to the Pumpkin Patch. We saw lots of Pumpkins and goats and lamas. I think we have taken each of you kids there. Do you remember? We had lots of fun. I got some pumpkins and goards and indian corn. We took a picture of the pumpkin really close up. Doesn't it look big? My favorite is the lama. After that we went to the Pizza Ranch for supper. It was a fun night.

Nice surprise

When I got home from the hospital I had just got settled on the couch and the door bell rang. Grandpa went to the door and there was this nice surprise. Attached to the balloon was a mug with a big bag of M and M's and a fun magazine to read. It was from the ladies I work with. Wasn't that nice. It really cheered me. Thank you for telling me you hope I feel better. I do. Today, Thursday I am dressed and feel pretty close to normal. I am so thankful to God for a wonderful body that knows how to heal if you just give it a little time. We are wonderfully made. I miss you all soooooo much. Love, Grandma

Movie Night

We are beginnning our AWANA Club this coming Wed. We decided to start with a just for fun movie night. I had the hard task of finding a movie. I watched and rejected several and then I remembered Emily that we watched this movie with you once. I rented it and discovered it is the perfect movie for my movie night. Thanks Emily for introducing me to"Air Buddies" , you saved me!

School Time

School Time


Emily, Alise and Luke, this year you will be going to school in Chicago. I would think it would be a little exciting and alot scary!!! Your Grandpa and I will be thinking about you and praying for you on that day. We are praying that you will like your teachers, that after a few days you will find some friends, that you won't be too scared, that you will fit in, that you will study hard, that you will let Jesus shine through you, and that some day you will say you really like school in Chicago. We are so proud of you all. You are great kids and I know your teachers will really like you. Remember this verse: Isaiah 41:13 "For I am the Lord your God, who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear: I will help you" Imagine God holding your hand as you go to Peterson Elementary, Grandpa and I will be picturing the same thing. We love you. Go get 'em.


We had alot of fun with Jonathan at the park. He liked everything about it. The thought of your happy, smiling face cheers grandpa and I everyday.


Josiah had a new water/sand table that he got for his 1 year birthday. He had alot of fun playing in it. We miss you sweet boy.


Emily, you are growing up so fast. You are becoming a lovely young lady. We are counting the days until Thanksgiving and we can see you again.

New Book

Hey kids, while I was in Lousiville I found the #3 book of my Bible Story books. I was excited. It has alot of good stories in it. I can't wait to share it with you. Jonathan and Josiah I think you will enjoy these books when you get just a little older.

Chicago

In one short week we will see you at your new home, Chicago. Doesn't that sound funny. We will start to make new memories. Grandpa and Grandma love Chicago so we are looking forward to our times there. Remember the books I make for each of you about your visits? I am going to put our Chicago visits in them now. A visit from Alise

Alise came to Grandpa and Grandma's house for her visit. We went out on a paddle boat at the park. That is something we have not done before. Here is Alise sitting on the boat. We had alot of fun that day and every day of her visit.

New Driveway

Just before we left for vacation we got the good news that Luke can now ride a two wheeler. Congratulations Luke! Well look what we are getting new. A new driveway. It isn't quite done yet but it will be alot better to ride a bike on when it is done. Can't wait until you can try it out.

Here is a cute picture of Jonathan that we took in Louisville. He is really walking good and loves to push his mower. Grandpa and I hope that each of you kids know that we love you very much.

A Hike in the Mountains

Grandpa and I went on lots of cool hikes. We wished so much we had each of you with us. It was really fun. Here is a bridge we found on one of our hikes that lead to the really neat water falls. Our vacation was lots of fun and our cabin was great Emily. (She was at our house when we booked it :) )

Going To Camp

Some of my very best memories are of camp. I loved it when I was a girl. My camp wasn't real fancy be we sure had a lot of fun. Of of my best memories was a friend I made at camp that couldn't walk because of polio. We pulled her all over in a red wagon. She could however really swim. They would set her on the edge of the diving board and she would dive in. The other great thing about camp was that it was there I made a decision to follow Christ with my whole heart my whole life. That was the best decision I ever made. Grandpa and I will be praying for you Emily and Alise as you head off to camp. Have a great time.

New Tooth

Emily lost her tooth while at Grandma and Grandpa Ostercamps. Here is a picture of the tooth along with a note to the fairy to return her tooth. She has plans to also try out the Minnesota Tooth Fairy. (Smart girl) The next picture is of Emily with her gift from the generous Iowa Tooth Fairy. She spent one of the dollars at the swimming pool for an ice cream sandwhich today.

A visit from Josiah


Look at this cute little guy. Josiah came with his dad and mom to visit the first week of June. He liked to get real silly and make us laugh. We took him to the park and he enjoyed swinging. He is such a happy boy and was lots of fun to have around. Thanks for coming Joey, we love you.






A visit from the Ostercamp Kids


The first week of June Emily, Alise, Luke and Natalie came for a visit. We went to the zoo among other things. We had a great time. Here we are on a Sunday morning. Thanks kids for the visit. Grandpa and I had a great time.









Zoo Trip

Today I am thinking about our trip to the Zoo. We really had a fun day didn't we. I thought I'd put up some pictures of our favorite spot, the bird cage. It was fun to get the sticks coated with seeds and watch they birds come to us. I didn't get a piture of Natalie because I think the birds kind of scared her when they got up close. When they flew the startled her. Thanks for spending the time with us, Grandpa and I really had a good time with you.

Last Days of School

Thank you Emily, Alise, Luke and Natalie for finding grandpa's kite pole. We really had fun flying the kite with you. We were sad to lose the stick and were really excited that you found it. We look forward to the next time we can fly it. (Thank your dad too)

Luke's visit

Luke visited Grandma Pizza's place in May. Here we are in our matching Gap sweatshirs. We had so much fun. We played mini golf and Luke worked with Grandpa in his workshop. I got Luke a new outfit and it turns out that I got Jonathan the same one for his visit. Now you boys are twins. Isn't that fun. We love you Luke.

A visit from Jonathan

Jonathan visited recently. It was really fun to have him here. He came with his mom and dad. He is walking now and is so fun to watch. He is anxious to see all his cousins and I know you all will have lots of fun with him. Below is a picture of him and grandpa. We gave him the little flag because it was Memorial Day.
